For the Kids: Treasure hunt; magic show; storyteller; crafts; face painting; games; decorating prizes; silent auction for kids; flying kites; balloons; water fun; poster contest; stroller derby; getting-to-know you games; clown; puppet show; playground equipment; zoo; food to feed ducks; lollipop tree; used toy auction.

For the Parents: Guest speakers; information booths; exhibitors (Usborne Books, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, etc.); car seat inspections; kids’ ID printing; nursing-wear fashion show; Family Expo; Expert Breastfeeding Panel Discussion; Women’s Health Fair; child fingerprinting by police

Food Ideas: Fruit social; mom-made deserts; veggie burgers; donated pizza, cookies, peanut butter cookies, and bottled water; potluck; grills available; snacks; cooking demonstration; watermelon; ice-cream social; cookie sale; bake sale; continental breakfast provided

Music Ideas: Live musical performance; kids “marching band”; invitation to bring your instrument to the walk and perform.

Incentives: Door prizes; goodie bags for children and/or sponsored walkers; sponsored walkers get a free raffle ticket for donated prizes; sponsored walkers entered into a drawing for prizes; services from local businesses; free chair massages from local massage school (they are often required to do service projects); silent auction of donated items; registration fee waived if sponsored walker; entry fee includes park admission and t-shirt; tricky trays; live auction; sponsored walkers get free baseball game tickets; the child of the walker with the most donations is crowned and leads the walk; those bringing in $50 or more are in a drawing for a lasagna dinner prepared by the Leaders.
