SETTING UP YOUR OWN WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK CELEBRATION
Welcome!
Getting started is very easy. We've collected many resources to help you personalize
and design the easiest and best event for your Group. Be creative and come up
with new ideas, too.
World Breastfeeding Week may be celebrated from May 1st through September 30th
in any way that helps raise breastfeeding awareness. Fundraising is important
too. See our Fundraising Ideas section for lots of easy ways to raise money
for our mission. A WBWC helps us reach mothers who choose to breastfeed. The
more ways we can find to accomplish both goals, the more successful this year's
World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations will be!
What's New for 2008?
We have lots of new resources this year, including simplified forms and this new website that has been designed to help you find what you need easily!
We have new merchandise and even an online store!
Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, there are incredible
prizes this year, including guaranteed first prizes to all who raise $2000.
Winners can choose from a $500 educational scholarship to attend any LLL sponsored
event or a $500 Amazon.com gift certificate. Groups or Chapters that raise $750
to $2,000+ will receive a 5% to 10% rebate! There are individual prizes ranging from a subscription to Mothering to $50 gift certificates to Amazon. There are even random drawings:
Any Groups that raise money will have their Group name entered into a drawing
for one of at least forty random drawing prizes. (average retail value $20- $25)
We even have a new logo to coordinate with our theme,
Mother Support: Going for the Gold.
Two Easy Steps to Get Started!
Step 1
Register as a Group, Chapter or other entity - it's free. Your event
can be any size, from one person doing an email or postal solicitation to a
Group or Chapter picnic, auction, tea, or festival. The Fundraising Ideas
page features a wealth of ideas. From $50 to $5,000, every extra dollar
helps LLL help mothers. If you know of Leaders who do not have Web access,
they can contact their AWC or
Pam Dunne to register or request WBWC
paperwork. If you are not an LLL Group, Chapter or affiliated with LLL, we are very pleased to have you join us. Please use the Other LLL Unit & Non LLL Entities Registration Form. All who register will be included on the Registered
Groups Page.
